The Effective LOPA Application course follows a three-day arc. Day 1 establishes why LOPA exists, where it sits in the safety lifecycle, and what good HAZOP input looks like. Day 2 covers the mechanics in depth: scenarios, initiating events, IPLs, conditional modifiers, the arithmetic, and the link to SIL. Day 3 covers application in practice: facilitation, recommendations, reporting, pitfalls, and how LOPA outputs feed an ALARP demonstration. Case studies threading through the course are drawn from UK chemical processing, water treatment, and fuel storage sectors.
