HIRA Masterclass - Session 1 of 12

HOW TO USE A RISK MATRIX

Monday 15 June 2026, 11:30–13:30 (UK time)

Everyone has a risk matrix. Almost nobody uses it consistently.

One person scores a consequence as "major." The person next to them scores the same scenario as "moderate." Both are experienced. Neither is wrong. But the output is unreliable — and every decision made from that risk assessment carries that inconsistency forward.

This session covers what a risk matrix is actually telling you, why two people in the same room score the same scenario differently, and how to get your team aligned before the assessment starts. With worked examples you can take back to your facility on Tuesday morning.

2 hours. Live. £25.

1 free place available for students, university staff, or anyone currently unemployed. A first come, first served. Get in touch to apply.
