HIRA Masterclass - Session 4 of 12

BUILDING A RISK MATRIX

Monday 21 September 2026, 11:30–13:30 (UK time)

Most teams inherit a risk matrix and never question it. That is a problem.

If your matrix doesn't match the activities and hazards at your facility, every assessment you run through it is wrong. If your consequence bands don't reflect your facility's actual hazard profile, you are either over-investing in low risks or under-investing in high ones.

This session covers how to build a risk matrix that fits your facility: consequence categories, likelihood bands, risk tolerance criteria, and the ALARP region. You will leave with a framework you can use to evaluate whether your current matrix is fit for purpose.

2 hours. Live. £25.

1 free place available for students, university staff, or anyone currently unemployed. A first come, first served. Get in touch to apply.
