HIRA Masterclass - Session 5 of 12

RISK ASSESSMENT TECHNIQUES AND WHEN TO USE THEM

Monday 19 October 2026, 11:30–13:30 (UK time)

PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, FMEA, Checklist: there are dozens of techniques and names for techniques and most facilities use the wrong one for the question they are asking.

Running a full HAZOP when a What-If would do wastes time and money. Running a What-If when you need a HAZOP misses hazards. The technique is not the assessment it is just the tool. Picking the right tool before you start is the single easiest way to improve the quality of your risk assessments.

This session maps techniques to decisions so you choose the right approach first time.

2 hours. Live. £25.

1 free place available for students, university staff, or anyone currently unemployed. A first come, first served. Get in touch to apply.
