HIRA Masterclass - Session 7 of 12

HAZOP INTRODUCTION

Monday 21 December 2026, 11:30–13:30 (UK time)

Guidewords, nodes, deviations, causes, consequences, safeguards, recommendations.

The HAZOP process is straightforward on paper. In practice, the difference between a HAZOP that protects your facility and one that gives you a false sense of security comes down to how rigorously those seven elements are applied.

This session walks through the HAZOP process from start to finish with a worked example, what good looks like, what bad looks like, and the three things that determine whether your HAZOP adds value or just ticks a box.

2 hours. Live. £25.

1 free place available for students, university staff, or anyone currently unemployed. A first come, first served. Get in touch to apply.

This course is a different scope to the HAZOP Foundations modules which aim to demonstrate the technique.

Testimonial

"The content was all relevant and clearly communicated using engaging slides. Louise emphasises the important points very well and gives example scenarios that add context."
